More About Me

I have a Master of Social Work degree (2012) and an undergraduate degree in Women's Studies and Political Studies (2002). I'm registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I supervise therapists registered with the OCSWSSW and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

While most of my career has been focused on working with survivors of abuse, I have also worked in mental health and addictions and have a strong understanding of how the issues of mental health, addictions, and abuse intersect.

Some of my post-graduate certifications and training include:

  • Foundations of Clinical Supervision - University of Ottawa
  • Clinical Supervision - Skills for Developing Counsellors, CTRI
  • Clinical Traumatology Program, Traumatology Institute
  • EMDR, Niagara Stress and Trauma Clinic
  • Stepping Stones, Internal Family Systems Therapy Canada (IFSCA)
  • Working with Concurrent Disorders (mental health & addictions), CAMH
  • Jackie Campbell Danger Assessment
  • Brief Spousal Assault Form for the Evaluation of Risk (BSAFER)
  • Making Connections: When Domestic Violence, Mental Health, and Substance Use Problems Co-Occur

I do my best to work from a feminist, anti-oppressive perspective. A big part of what this means to me is de-pathologizing survivors and the strategies they have used to survive and adapt to patterns of abuse and oppression in their lives. I focus on ethical practice, both for myself and the therapists I consult with. I also focus on therapist well-being, as we also live in a world that's steeped in abuse logic and oppression. Working with survivors can impact us in beautiful and painful ways, and we need space to debrief and reflect with a consultant who gets it.
